So, the new strategy is: sleep later. It makes the day go faster in those situations where one is not allowed to sit up. The challenge is, Daddy and Toby wake at 7. Toby mostly sings and makes happy noises, and throws everything out of the crib. Daddy tries to be quiet, but closet lights and bathroom lights and dropping things and squeaky drawers and hairdryers... you get the picture. So, the strategy is go BACK to sleep after Daddy and Toby exit.
I have been laying down this whole time... pretty much. But today is hardcore bedrest. I was pretty majorly bummed yesterday - I feel much better today.

We need some discussion up in here. I need to be entertained.

Toddler Gets Stuck in Vending Machine
Wis. Toddler Pursuing a Stuffed Sponge Bob Toy Ends Up Getting Stuck in Vending Machine

The Associated Press
ANTIGO, Wis. - Three-year-old Robert Moore went fishing for a stuffed replica of Sponge Bob and ended up trapped in a vending machine. The toddler's adventure began with a Saturday evening shopping trip with his grandmother, Fredricka Bierdemann, and three siblings.
Bierdemann ended the trip by giving each child a dollar and telling them to have fun in a retailer's game room.

A stuffed Sponge Bob in a vending machine's bin caught Robert's eye. He tried without success to fish it out with a plastic crane.

"I told him I could get it for him," his grandmother said. "He's a character. He said, 'Oh no, I can get it.'"

When she turned her back to get another dollar for a second try, Robert took off his coat and squeezed through an opening in the machine. He landed in the stuffed animal cube.

"I turned around and looked for him, and he said, 'Oma, I'm in here," Bierdemann said. "I thought I would have a heart attack."

Store employees couldn't find a key to the machine, so Robert waited while the Antigo Fire Department was called.

"He was having a ball in there, hugging all the stuffed animals," Bierdemann said. "He was so good-natured, but I was shaking like a leaf."

Firefighters broke one lock but then spotted two latches inside the plastic cube. They passed a screwdriver to Robert.

"He stacked up all the stuffed animals and used that screwdriver to open the latch," his grandmother said. "You should have seen him go."

Eventually, Robert freed himself. But his mother, Marie Moore, and grandmother said they were lucky that he remained calm when another child might not have. He went home safe but without a stuffed Sponge Bob.

This is kind of entertaining.
sad but entertaining

Okay, this is an actual episode of the Newlywed Game.

The question was "What is your husband's favorite South American country?"

The first wife answered Brazil.

The second wife was a bit puzzled as to what the term "South American" meant. She answered "New Mexico." The MC explained to her that that was a U.S. state, not a South American country. still confused as to what this strange adjective "South American" meant, she answered "Mexico." The third wife was sure of her answer. She wasn't as confused as wife number two and showed it. when it came time to give her answer, she answered very confidently "I know what my husband's favorite South American country is: it's Africa!" The MC allowed it.

The fourth wife answered "Mexico" as well. One out of four ain't bad.

The only husband to give the same answer as his wife was the fourth, who answered "Mexico."

here's something

Yesterday afternoon, i was approached by the court coordinator in another office about a position available. It would be in another office, but it would definitely be a step up from where i am.

I have an interview Thursday after work.

Very interesting.

I found out later that the court coordinator from another office recommended me for the position. That was nice.

I'm nervous, excited, apprehensive, and hesitant, but eager.

oh,and i don't know who'd you'd tell, but nobody i work with can know about this. =)

An honest man was being tailgated by a stressed-out woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman hit the roof--and the horn--screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection. As she was still
in mid-rant , she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the police station where she was searched, finger printed, photographed and placed in a holding cell.

After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.

He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you,
and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'Choose Life' license plate holder, the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday
School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk. Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car."

Priceless

FIVE BEST THINGS TO SAY IF YOU GET CAUGHT SLEEPING AT YOUR DESK:

5. "They told me at the Blood Bank this might happen."

4. "This is just a 15 minute power nap they raved about in the time management course you sent me to."

3. "Whew! Guess I left the top off the Whiteout. You probably got here just in time."

2. "Did you ever notice sound coming out of these keyboards when you put your ear down real close?"

And the NUMBER ONE best thing to say if you get caught sleeping at your desk...

1. Raise your head slowly and say, "...in Jesus' name, Amen."

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners .

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia " (Charles Schultz)

Jess- When Daddy and Toby exit the home in the morning, where does Toby go?

Gallagher opened the morning newspaper and was dumbfounded to read in the obituary column that he had died. He quickly phoned his best friend, Finney.

"Did you see the paper?" asked Gallagher. "They say I died!!"

"Yes, I saw it!" replied Finney. "Where are ye callin' from?"

Well, I knew there would be some nosy types in here - that's ok. As long as you enjoyed them, too.

Toby probably goes with Daddy - tucked away neatly in Daddy's Sponge Bob lunch box.

Fess up! Jess & Rich just love Sponge Bob.

Perhaps Toby drops Daddy off at work & then takes the family car for a joy ride!

Or Toby might meet a few lovely ladies & treat them to lunch at Chuckie Cheese.

Or Toby may be laying rubber down on the 242 strip - outrunning the law!

Go, Toby, go!

How do guitar players just PLAY for hours in their bedrooms when they're young men?

J's been playing "riffs" for over an hour in there... where the little box makes the notes keep resounding while he plays other notes...and they all end up harmonizing on top of each other... Quite fascinating...

I guess it's the same type of personality that can play Solitaire for hours on end...

Jacob Walsh, Rachel, Nathan Allen and I sat at Whataburger for HOURS tonight and talked about cop stories...being pulled over and such.

And whaddaya know...on the way home...I passed a state trooper parked on the side of the road, I said to myself "I'm about to get pulled over again." I wasn't speeding or doing anything illegal, my license plate light is out. I knew this, as I got pulled over in the EXACT same spot last week for the same thing. I've got the replacement bulbs sitting IN MY PASSENGER SEAT!

But I pass him, see his headlights turn on and just gently pull into a gas station(the same place I pulled into last time) and waited for him to come up behind me. He didn't even have his lights on!! I knew he was coming for me...so...yep. Gotta warning for my LP lights.

so Ironic...
