The Athlete

I have to scan in Richy's basketball picture.. so cute. His final
"game" was Saturday. They had moonwalks and giant beach balls and in
general, managed chaos.
All of the kids have had a Buddy through the season that works
specifically with them....Richy's buddy was late so he got to hang
out with a few random ladies and charm them. He was so excited about
all the party stuff. He was jumping and laughing and having a blast.
It was a blast just watching him. He got a certificate and a few
prizes... he didn't seem excited about it until we got home and I
explained what his certificate said. "Good job, Richy, playing
basketball!" (so it was a paraphrase)
Now he is so proud of that paper. I'm going to have to frame it and
put it up in his room.

On to the next sport.... SOCCER... starts this Saturday. How cute is
he going to be in his soccer uniform... This one is pretty exciting
because actual soccer players are involved with the kids... fun fun fun.
I think I'll just put the baby poll up tomorrow since my appointment
is not until 3 anyway. You- shall have to wait.

hi! Happy Happy Birthday Beth C!

Beth, Nate says hi! He remembers the pic you took of him at McD. He is at home today b/c he had a fever last night. He is fine now, but they won't let him in school for 24 hours after he is clear of a fever.

Tron, you look like you have been cake-splattered, what is all over you?

Hey, for those seeking employment...the United States Post Office is always looking for folks. They are always short workers, which is why mi esposo is always working overtime!

Plus, you can freak out your friends after you learn how to drive from the passenger side.

It IS hard work, though. You have to use your own car most times and no benefits until you are considered "full time". The pay is pretty good, esp the OT.

hey job seekers
i was thinking of tron, but georgia might like it too.
a position has come open in the office where i work.
here's the address
http://www.co.montgomery.tx.us/jobs/4-Court%20Clerk%20II.htm
the pay offered is $23,700 -ish a year.

the county site is also advertising as similar position working for jp 3

wow...thats pretty good. Do they accept guys though? I've only ever seen girls as clerks. Probably because of handwriting issues and organizational skills...neither of which are my fortes in any way shape or form. Well....the organization...it really bugs me when things are disorganized...and I'll fix it...when it's buggin me....I'm a mechanical minded person...give me something where I have to engineer, and I'm set to go...

BethC said...

thanks for all the well-wishes.
I'm bout to go to a meeting, but I'll be blog-reading when I can...
enjoy the weather and stay safe!

Beth said...

yes, actually she likes to hire guys 'cause they can lift stuff....
but a guy with actual computer skills would be really cool.
i really think you should give it a shot.
but as with that other place, it would be a pretty good idea to shave and get a hair cut before your interview.....=)

Nate said...

ah...bummer...

goodbye metal nate...

hello corporate world nate

sellout...

I really don't want to be hired to lift stuff. Makes me feel stupid. Like the women of the world only see use for guys that way.

I'm computerific!

If Tron is still looking like his profile pic, that should be an image that a professional would hire. His hair isn’t way long and his beard is well kept. Dress him up and he should be looking good.

Boeing has many guys with hair to their waist and beards to their chest working here. . . very professional guys too - engineers that make some bucks.

I can see little Richy being all proud of his piece of paper now that he knows it means “good job,” that’s cute.

He’s becoming a well rounded sports pro.

hmmm...I don't know...I'm not sure I'd take the chance. Maybe if I got my hair like...chunked out or layered or something, to where it looks nice and not just that I let it grow for 7 months...and trimmed my beard up nice...

but it's still a risk...

I wish my buddy would show up late, so I could hang with a few random ladies and charm them...

I'm single...might be coming into a really good job sooner or later...(hopefully sooner) but...y'know...I'm a lonely fellow!

happy bday! beth!

hi g!

hello clam, lisa and sivad...

have a good evening all...

Beth said...

well, for this particular job, i happen to know the boss....he should get a hair cut....
=)
i like his hair, but.....i'm not the hirer

and yes, tron, they would love that you are computerific--but the lifting stuff makes you a hero to an office full of women--it's just gravy

=)

the corporate world isn't exactly the same as the court world

Just saw this:

WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court rejected an appeal Tuesday from a Georgia woman seeking to reverse a 1973 Supreme Court ruling giving her the right to an abortion.

Sandra Cano was part of the original series of landmark rulings from the high court legalizing the medical procedure. The justices without comment refused to reopen the case.

Nate said...

oh no! well...the Lord's ways are HIGHER than our ways, and the Supreme Court's ways...he knows what he's doing...

Nate said...

well...I've come to a crossroad

keep the hair and beard(neatly trimmed though) and go for the interview all risky like

or

go clean cut and go for the interview...still a risk, because I look really young without the hair and beard. Do good companies hire young people? From the amount of youngbloods working at McD's i'd say no...

what to do...what to do

did you know lisa lewis, the woman who was killed today in Humble? husband is the dancer?

how sad. you all pray for that family.

the dad is in Israel!

the mom was in a dental office and one of the sons was pulling the van up close so she wouldn't have to get wet, and he hit the accelerator instead of the brake!

O Lord, comfort the broken hearted.

Have mercy on this family and help them please!
