Peter Jennings died today. I feel sad about that, and I don't really
know why. In recent years I haven't been able to stand watching his
broadcasts.... the bias was so obvious and so wrong.
But now he's dead and I feel a little disoriented. The old guard is
dying off. And my generation will have to step up and lead. And even
though the media is so skewed, even though I would watch the news and
think "I wonder if that's true?"... it's sad, somehow.
Do I really think Daisy Fuentes will lead us in an honest pursuit of
truth? How about Jessica Simpson? Or Jeff Probst?
You know what I mean? It's like we're in kindergarten and all the
teachers have left and now we have to figure it out. NOT that they were
right. But they were there.
You cannot know how I dread Rush dying. Who will pick up that baton?
I'll probably feel better after breakfast. It's just strange.

Does anyone besides me ever feel guilty about being bored with the news. Everyday I go to workout and I watch fox news. Sometimes I turn it off because I am so bored. It's like if its the war in Iraq or what's happening in u.n. or even who they are fighting to get in or out of office, I phase out. I find myself getting slower and slower on the treadmill. When did one lap take sooo long? On the contrary, if it is about the weather, or what happened in a Houston wal-mart or an abducted child, I am all interested. Especially that day they found two alligators in a Kingwood apt complex. Wow! that could have been me! I know the importance of all these things, that they are affecting our future and the U.S. in general, but I cant help being so bored I start to think about watching Home Alone or something even lamer like The gay guy that makes everybody parties. ( actually that one was pretty interesting. Anybody feel like I do? Let me know.
