Do people really LIKE turkey? Like crave it and just think it tastes so
good?? or is it more of a cultural thing that everybody enjoys... like
beer in Germany or something?

It must be because they feel like they have to pretend to like it because the pilgrims did.....maybe the pilgrims didn't even like the dadgum dry cottony bird, but they were all very hungry and there were lots of wild turkeys available.

Thanksgiving and Christmas were always fun times around the Peterson house when Jeremy and I were kiddos. My parents fully did the Santa thing, we left out cookies, got presents from it, and all that. We didn’t have any real traditions, other than BIG meal, Christmas music, and lots of presents. Since I was the first to give my life to Jesus in my teens, Jesus wasn’t a part of the holidays. Shannon, on the other hand, grew up knowing the Lord. We’ve talked on different occasions what we plan to do. . . ahh phone ringing.

you won't believe this...but the coach i am subbibg for lets his Students listen to music, but i said "no" b/c they weren't working (talking instead), but one guy beggggged to sit by cd player and work...and guess what kinda of music....right by th computer....aaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh

. . . I don’t remember if Shannon said her family had any traditions, but we plan to start one or two with our kids, just not sure what yet. The biggest thing is that we want God and Jesus to be the focus. As far as Santa, we plan to just tell the truth, St. Nicolas was who he was and why he gave gifts and all that. Our kids will know Santa isn’t real and doesn’t really come to peoples homes anymore.
I too really like the taste of turkey!! And everything else that goes with it. No way it’s just a culture things, a well cooked turkey rocks!!

Eli is a cutie! Looking good! How long did you take off work, or are you still off?
This Thanksgiving and Christmas will be cool for Shannon. She hasn’t been with her parents during the holidays since 2000! She is really looking forward to being with them and I’ll get to see what they usually do. Her parents and I get along great, so I know it will be a good time whatever we do. I know we’ll be eating, probably playing some games, maybe some karaoke, and her dad and I may do some racing on the Super Nintendo.
FYI Tamales and eggnog go GREAT together
