When we got Sing-Sing... I was apprehensive. In my younger days, I was a cat person... I have evolved with age into a general disliker-of-animalkind.
They're pretty and all. I just don't want them to touch me and so forth.
But SingSing won the hearts of the males around here and so, I tolerated her.
But she is a cat. A very cat. She chases everything and jumps out of corners and climbs on the table and knocks things down and goes on neurotic Siamese rampages where she runs at lightning speed all over the house.
She's a good cat. I just don't want a cat.
Now, with a 3rd baby coming and the emotions and all the changes.... I really don't want a cat.
So, Sing-Sing is available to a good home. She has her shots, except rabies.
Come on now. Somebody really wants this cat.

Baby Shower is for Niki Hecker....
My dearest Christian friend that I used to work with @ the Shelter.
You probly do not know either of these women.
I'd like to take Sing Sing...
how old is she?
is she spayed?
But, I'm not sure YOU want me to take her...
Here's our family's experiences with cats...
1) Prince Charles - a cute white kitten we allowed LIndsey to adopt when she was seven. (She's the one who named the little Siamese-mix "Prince Charles", which totally didn't make sense to me, so I called the little rascal "Chuck". We allowed her to adopt the kitten the same summer our poodle lost a litter of puppies and was grieving terribly. As soon as we brought Chuck home and put him gently outside in the back yard, he went right over to Ruffles (the poodle) and started nursing!!! Yes, you heard that right. (If I had a video cam, I could be a $10,000 winner on AFVideos!!!) Ruffles adopted him quickly and fed Chuck for days. (She had been losing her mind after losing her 3 pups, and had been searching the neighborhood.)
Anyway, one morning I couldn't find Jeremiah John (4 years old)so, I looked out in the back yard, and there was he... and there was Chuck... Chuck was tied by a jump-rope to the swing-set glider, and was being pushed back and forth with his little tail snivelling back and forth in an evident display of cat anger. I got him untied and tried to comfort little Chuck...but he was in a tiff the rest of the day.
Scroll forward to the next morning. I'm driving my kids and my two nieces to school when out of the corner of my left eye, I spot a white spot on Glorietta street, the one that goes past our side and back yard. Yep, Chuck was now road-pizza. I didn't want to hurt the kids before their day of school so I kept my mouth closed. And to this day, I don't know if I ever told them what actually happened to little Prince Charles...Chuck....
Okay... that was the first kitten we had as a family.
Need I tell the other cat stories?
ok - cat's # 2 and #3
Naomi and Avonlea
They were sisters. Naomi was black and white, silvester-looking, very fat. Avonlea was a fat calico. Both were BEATIFUL!
When Naomi was approximately 2 years old, we had gone on a week vacation - and when we got home, we saw her jumping up and down in the garage trying to get our attention through the garage door window!!!! (We had left the 2 cats outdoors - which was their natural habitat with instructions for a neighbor to feed and water) Somehow, Naomi must've snuck into the garage as we were pulling out for our trip...and was in there with NO FOOD, AND ONLY HUMIDITY to drink for a whole week!
The next week, we went on an over-night campout and the next day, after we got home, a neighbor came to my door and had horrible news. She told me that someone had played a horrible trick on us... had tied a jumprope around our cat's neck and hung it over the fence and that it was dead...
Backflash - I remembered that two days prior I had seen J - then 6 years old - playing "tie a jumprope on Naomi's neck and pretend she is a dog on a leash..." in the front yard... I'm sure the cat escaped, and J was too young to know to say something about it...never knowing that the cat would jump the fence and get stuck by that cute little red end-piece found on all little girl's jumpropes...
That's the story of Cat #2...
Shall I go on???
Yes, please go on. . .
Jess, I think you should give the cat to MPC.
Avonlea became of fat object of our affection, and we moved several times and she adjusted readily to each new home, driveway and garage. When she heard the van driving up our street, she would make her way hastily to the driveway to greet her happy family. She was BEAUTIFUL!!!
She weighed close to 10 pounds!
One day, we drove into our driveway, looked straight ahead...and there was Avonlea...but only half of her body could we see, squished up at the top of the garage door!!! We could see 2 legs and a tail...doing the angry cat routine...
She had been (apparently) sleeping either on top of the van or on the raised garage door when I had left that afternoon. As I backed out of the garage and let the door down, I suppose with all the noise of the garage-door-opener behind her, all she could think to do was to run toward the opening... and... oh NOOOO! she somehow slipped in....
HORRIBLE THING to find your favorite fat cat squished....
She lived another 12 hours or so... we took her to the vet, they told us there wasn't much hope... so, I sat out there and comforted her as much as possible in the garage as she gave up the ghost.
Give SING SING to Natalie and Chris or SAndy and JUAN.......
OR LEAH and NATE....or MAMA
R2 likes the cat right?
If it is already causing you stress than CAT B GONE!
Good luck BABY
vkg, don't you think I would make a good candidate for the one who will receive the cat gift?
i really love the kittens who have been brought into my life...
Now, there's Bob aka Black Jack... He "was" cat # 7...
But I'm sure you don't wish to hear all the rest of the stories...
