It was 103 degrees at the hospital parking lot... then, by the time I got to midway, it had dropped to 79!!! and a huge storm had blown across Hwy 105.... huge yummy rain drops...

glad you're back jess and crew...

in the room with the "mean" doc again - but, after my nerves were calmed, it wasn't so bad. The Lord is my Strength and My Shield! At 2:30, the guy says to me "Hang in there, Pam, you're doing good..." And I thought all he could utter were demeaning words!!!

The Lord is healing the wounded hearts...

Hey, guys
There was a tornado or something here tore up about a mile or two of Atascocita and we lost power for about 4 or 5 hours. We went to find a hotel room, but they were all full up. We finally found one in greenspoint but the only rooms they had were too small for 5 people. By the time we got home the lights were back on.

Today has been one of those really bad days, glad to be home and going to bed.

Servant
Will you make me and Pam a boston creme pie to share?

This is your big opportunity to prove your prowess.

G-Wassup with that?

I think I was the one to bring up boston creme pies in the beginning.
Mamapc has been having some bad days at work, so I said she needed one and I said that Servant should make her one. ( since I am not any good at making them and he is a good cook) He said that he would and she is trying to talk him out of it.

Georgia said...

Although she loves them. I think you love them too, don't you?

Man, I never thought that Supern8 got ever discouraged. I am so glad that God came through with you on that one. Keep up the good work Supern8. You really are a superhero to us.

Where are all the early birds this morning?

Ooooo

I brought up bavarian cream filled maple bars....and that lead to Boston cream pie, (my official birthday cake)..

I still need one....I bet servant could create a cookie that would taste like a BCP..if it can be done, he is the one to do it,.

Nate said...

ah VKG...I brought up Bavarian Creme...cause Jacob ate my donut...

Mama PC said...

don't we all have something better to do this morning than blog???

tee hee hee

Mama PC said...

i think the reconstruction of the boston cream pie story has now unfolded...

yes, if he makes it, i will eat it...

and i'll share, G

Nate said...

well...I could be feeding the dogs and cats...but they have no food. I have no time to go to the store and buy food...therefore, they will drink water(they're fasting)

Mama PC said...

sorry you had to go through all that problem yesterday, g... did your home or property have damage?

i have noticed that the battles we are in seem to be beefing up lately... that our adversary is really turning up the heat... in many areas... but, we shall persevere and become stronger... in the strength of the Lord...

and we will allow everything that is not of Christ, the things not Godly in our lives to be burned up and burned out like the dross out of the gold mixture... and we will come out shining like pure gold...

so that we may present ourselves holy and acceptable to HIM

Lord we submit our lives to You... use us in Your plan...touch the world through our hands...

a BOSTON CREAM PIE recipe, servant, so you'll know how it goes... so you can do what you want with it... :-) i've never tried this recipe...

Cake:
3/4 Cup Sugar
1/3 Cup Butter
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 cups cake flour
2 tsp. Baking powder
1/3 tsp. Salt
1/2 cup milk

Sift the flour and baking powder together and set aside. In a large bowl, beat the butter until soft and creamy. Add the sugar gradually. Mix thoroughly. Add the eggs all at once and beat thoroughly. Gradually add the milk and flour mixture alternating until all is mixed in. Pour into two greased 8" cake pans. Bake at 375° for about 25 minutes.

Custard Filling:
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/4 tsp. Salt
2 cups scalded milk or cream
2 slightly beaten eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla

Combine the sugar, flour, salt in a bowl. Swirl in the milk or cream until smooth and thick. Add the eggs and stir in. Cook in a double boiler until the eggs thicken. Cool and add the vanilla. Chill thoroughly.
Put the custard between the cake layers and glaze with chocolate if desired.

Chocolate Glaze
2 cups sugar
2 ounces baking chocolate
2 tbsp. White corn syrup
3/4 cup milk
2 tbsp. Butter
1 tsp. Vanilla

In a saucepan, heat the sugar, chocolate, corn syrup and milk stirring only until the sugar is dissolved. Cook to the soft ball stage (238°). Add the butter and remove from heat. Place the saucepan in cold water. When the icing is lukewarm, add the vanilla. Beat it to the right consistency and spread on top of the Boston Crème Pie!

we need to have a get together soon!!! where we all can bring food and cakes and pies and our laughs...

mkay...dogs got old cinnamon rolls. Which they thouroughly enjoyed. The cats got yummy canned tuna. Which sounds really good. I couldn't find anything that I liked for breakfast...so...I haven't eaten anything. But tuna sounds kinda yummy...

Nate said...

I burned my finger on some hot cheese yesterday. Cheese is really bad, cuz when it gets on you, it begins cooling right away, and therefore sticks to you. But not cooled enough to stop burning. Now my finger hurts, and that makes Naytron sad...

Nate said...

off to work...later guys! See ya in a bit VKG!

Georgia said...

The dogs got cinnamon rolls? LOL!

Georgia said...

Servant that sounds like English 1301 Comp and rhetoric. Is that it?

Georgia said...

Thanks for being so generous with your cooking talents. I cant wait to party with yall in the boston creme party.

Georgia said...

Thanks for the prayers about last night. I suffered no damage, except for exhaustion. If you saw the news last night though you saw that Atascocita was hit hard.
