Can you believe it has been 5 years since 9/11?
I was homeschooling Mercedes through first grade... we were just kinda waking up and starting the day when Rob called and told us to turn on the TV. And of course, at first we just thought it was a crazy accident. Until we saw the plane hit the second tower. What an insane day. And life in America has changed as a result.
In other news, I am still sick. My mail was not forwarded, so I don't have my insurance card, so I can't make a doctor's appointment. I am learning patience. At least I'm not throwing up. I am just energy zapped nauseated until I can't move laying around kinda morning (ha) sickness. And this is pretty close to what all my pregnancies have been, not quite as strong as my sickness with the twins.
I am also an emotional basketcase. But overall, doing ok.
Monday Morning Mommy Meeting today... I shall drag my carcass to the church.
Also, make sure you rinse your sheets. I thought mine would be okay when my washer broke during the rinse cycle, and now I look like a leper. Well, only more like a leper with chicken pox. But I figured it out last night and changed the sheets so hopefully the rash will disappear.
I heard Mike shook it up yesterday with his message. Awesome. We'll have to get a copy.

Sorry to hear you’re feeling so bad.
It is hard to think it has been 5 years since the attacks. I just learned that Boeing had 3 employees that were on the American Airlines flight that crashed into the Pentagon.
I remember being at Hewitt when the news circulated. My manager, who I sat next to, turned on her radio. I can still hear Peter Jennings’ cracking voice as he solemnly announced that the first 100 story tower had crumbled to the ground. I thought this grown man, who had seen and heard just about everything in his news career, was about to cry. . . he was speechless. Hewitt let anyone go home that wanted to get their kids out of school or be with family. I stayed at work so others could leave. It was dead silent for most of the day, no client phone calls, only a few emails. Hewitt set up a TV to broadcast the news on a projector screen in the lunch room so those who stayed at work could take breaks and see some news. I had a big lump in my throat the first time I watched the footage.
That’s bad, but funny about the sheets. Gotta love those rashes!
We found out Keith probably has Shannon’s skin that is sensitive in perfumed soaps and the like. We got family portraits (they look SOO good, we’ll have them in two weeks) done over Labor Day weekend. Keith was on his belly on a sheet in the studio, and then broke out in a rash on the side of his face that was on it.
quotable quote:
Absolute Obedience
“Gentleman, - you have now reached the last point. If anyone of you doesn’t mean business let him say so now. An hour from now will be too late to back out.
Once in, you’ve got to see it through. You’ve got to perform without flinching, whatever duty is assigned you, regardless of the difficulty or the danger attending it.
If it is garrison duty, you must attend to it, if it is meeting fever, you must be willing, If it is the closest kind of fighting, [you must be] anxious for it. Absolute obedience to every command is your first lesson.
No matter what comes you mustn’t squeal.
Think it over – all of you. If any man wishes to withdraw he will be gladly excused, for others are ready to take his place.”
Theodore Roosevelt, Remarks to Recruits, 1898
I was watching TV from my bed and I think it was a TUESDAY morning, and Glen had just come in from a long road trip with AMWAY.....he was nice....cause he had missed me.
I think my Robert had called and told me to turn on the TV..then I called my BIO DAD and told him about it, Arizona was an hour or two behind us so it was EARLY..and he was mad..and then the second plane hit...and the whole world changed and became a different place. .. Glen was angry again...
the entire world was weird and unsafe. I remember knowing that it would never be the same again. and the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach for all those people and those families..
What a horrible day.

RE: Mike's message...yes, outstanding. I burned a copy and had a chance to listen to it again when I drove up here to Tulsa yesterday. I need 2-3 more times still to process it and let it sink in...
So, what was the message about?
did the message really seem to reach out and grab you? josh, you'll just have to get the cd... it's hard to just say it right here on this here blog... there's too much to say...
it confirmed a lot of things that i've known in my spirit for years, but never heard taught... and brought clarity...
i still am wondering about it all...and have a sense of awe and excitement about what things will be like...
josh, you'll just have to get a cd somehow...

Josh.......God wants to use us to be salt and to help peeps in the future, and to "be here" for them.
