Guys day

Mornin, all.
Yesterday I went out by myself for the second time... Richy kept R2
and Toby. I'm on a pretty short leash because Toby won't take a
bottle. But I had 2 glorious hours of aloneness. I went to Cinco De
Mayo and ate. Just ate and ate. It's weird how used you get to
gobbling your food while bouncing a baby on one leg.
I also went to the library. Then I received a very sad phone call
from Toby and came home.
It was great, and then I was so happy to see my boys again.
I remember being a kid, and being by myself a lot. Everybody in the
family was older... then I got popular at school and started to like
being the party.
Then I grew up and got tired of being the party.
Then a lot of sad things happened and I needed to be alone.
Now I am happy and I am never alone... but I still crave solitude
sometimes. So yesterday was a blessing.

Today is guys day.. a guy will choose the topics and womenfolk will
wait until noon to argue. = )
And the first topic will be chosen by.... Naytron

In honor of my lumpy tongue....the topic will be. Strange Medical things/Injuries. Is this good enough? Josh had a weird one the other day, or yesterday or something. Hairy tongue something or other. Where the bacteria and yeast in your mouth grows uncontrollably. Creating a black spot and sometimes hairlike extensions on your tongue!

ah! frist!! Harvy didn't claim it!

It's interesting and weird how the human body is so awesomely made, but can have really strange things like those happen.

Have to get ready for work, back in 30-45 mins.

ugh...the black hairy one looks like fleas...nasty

I got some multi-vitamins for the fast...one meal a day doesn't give you much as far as nutrition goes. But every time I burp, I can taste the vitamin. Probably because there's nothing else in my stomach, and they have an "all natural shell" for easy digestion and absorption.

Josh said...

Haven't been around cause I had a meeting and now have some training I have to have done today.

Yo Tron-
Good luck with WFNB (try to request Tuesdays (nights) off!!!

By the way guys, I have a geographic tongue full of lesions. It hurts alot of the time, but I try to manage it alot of the time. Some people cannot help what type of abnormality they have. I just pray that God will at least take the pain away.

just got back from interview...I'm not sure it went well. But if it's God's will then I'll get it. They had three positions open, one working a shift from 9-3 the others working from 2-9(p.m.!) with RG and the commitments there I could ONLY work the 9-3. Someone interviewed this morning requested it...so, if they're hired, there's no wueno for me..

Anonymous said...

Beth,

I first noticed it when I was pregnant with Christopher about 6 years ago. They do not know the causes and say that it should not hurt, but it does. Especially if I eat french fries w/salt, pineapple, strawberrirs, vinegar, or a few other things.

Milk (or ice cream) seems to help take away the pain.

speaking of medical tongue problems... Lindsey used to have the most horrible tongue problem from when she was approximately 9 years old until she was 19. We went to doctors. We researched. We experimented. Finally, it's gone... but we think that 3 things were probably the culprits (one or all or a combination).

#1) stress
#2) apples
#3) peanut butter

She had been eating a lot of apples and peanut butter for years...and when she finally stopped, it went away. Now, she eats them occasionally, but for years, they were an every day thing...

and the sores on her tongue would come up and make her miserable for weeks! her tongue would itch and be reddened, then she'd bite it to keep it from hurting and itching, and it would cause sores, etc... she was one miserable camper...

docs said it wasn't yeast, wasn't fungal, wasn't ANYTHING like they'd ever seen before, and tried all kinds of medicine combinations... looked in the books of tongue problems/diseases...and couldn't find ONE THING that looked like what she had...

weird...

but, when we laid off the pb and apples and she got more rest, it went away....after YEARS of flareups!

so...

for what it's worth... there's some more info for whoever's trying to figure out tongue problems...

Mama PC said...

the only doc who thought he could treat it, thought it was an allergic reaction to a food(s)...and he wanted us to do that elimination diet, but we didn't do that.... until we stumbled upon the idea that it was probably the peanut butter and/or the apples...

weird time.

even to this day, if linds doesn't get enough sleep, she'll feel a strange feeling on her tongue... and it forewarns her to get her zzz's...

she doesn't eat pb or apples much any more... but still can eat them...

Nate said...

oh how horrible!! Ten years? Wow...poor Lin-z! And to have to give up PB and Apples...this is truly a sad thing...;) I mean...it is...really...but there was some humor there for ya......

OH NEVERMIND! THE MOMENT IS OVER!

Josh said...

Man I hate it if my tongue started feeling weird whenever I was low on sleep. . . I think it would feel weird just about 24 - 7.

Josh said...

AND apples are my favorite fruit and PB one of my favorite things to eat, along with salsa. I occasionally will have a PB&G sandwich and chips and salsa together. Shannon thinks the combo is gross, I feel a little slice of heaven on earth.

I would hate to give up apple and PB.

What was really torture is when I didn’t eat anything dairy or with milk for 2 years. EVERYTHING has milk, non-fat dry milk, or malt. Most cereals, just about every snack food or bar, and of course ice cream, pizza. I loved putting cheese on spaghetti, chili, and everything. Try going out to eat at Olive Garden and not have dairy!

Josh said...

I sincerely apologize if I just made anyone that is fasting fall to temptation.

DON’T DO IT MAN!!!

Nate said...

haha...I'm not hungry...yet

Nate said...

I've never completed a full day of a fast before...now I'm going on 2! Only 19 more to go...wow...thats a long time! I'll make it! I'll overcome! I'm more than a conquerer. I'll come out broken and better for it. Fasting=good? yes!

Hmmm- I wonder what the "G" stands for...

peanut butter and goulash?
peanut butter and garbanzos?
peanut butter and gelatin?

hmmm...

anyone else have any ideas???

Mama PC said...

my kids used to eat pb&j sandwiches EVERY DAY FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 YEARS!!! that's all they wanted for lunch! pb on apples, pb on crackers, pb on bread with jelly or honey... so, i think she developed a sensitivity.

It is actually peanut butter and gorilla.

Watch yourself smarty or it could be PB&PC.

The first multiple day fast I ever did was a very good and breaking experience. The first two days weren’t too bad, day 3 is when it physically got worse, but the Lord gives strength to overcome and the flesh is broken. It is a good experience.

'No,' replied the applicant. 'But he always dreamed of it.'

Hey guys,

I'm looking at getting a mp3 player. I want a screen, so the iPod shuffle is out, and I do not want to spend over $100 so any other iPod is out.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I found a Creative Zen Nano Plus 1 GB for $69.99. Does anyone know how this one performs? I know that it is not compatible with iTunes, but should it work OK?
