Yesterday Andrea Yates was found not guilty by reason of insanity.
I have just been trying to process what I think of that.
I think she was insane. It was a horrible evil thing to do... demonic.
So she's going to get out of prison.... crazy. I wonder if there is any person who killed 5 adults deliberately and is walking the streets... maybe this is different somehow because she was suffering from PostPartum Psychosis... like, she isn't a threat to the general population. She will probably spend most of her life in a mental institution.
Really, though. Can you imagine what has to be going on in her mind? What could be more horrible, more torturous than knowing you killed your children.... grieving the loss... and knowing YOU did it. She will be in prison whether or not she is incarcerated... hell on earth.
And her (ex) husband... all along has said he supports her, she was a good wife, etc. I don't get this. If he wants to say, she was a good wife up until the day she KILLED our children, then, maybe. But why this unwavering support? He should be outraged... you know?

Anyway, it's pretty easy to have an opinion about something.

ditto on jenn's comment about mr.yates. he has some accountability and guilt by ommission/neglect.
that fact will be revealed, eventually.

You know... there is definitely demonic involvement... but I believe ... I don't know, but it seems like there are genuine mental diseases... you know? Like actual medical problems that could enable someone to do something like this

journalists write to argue, convince, inspire, entertain, and inform.
lawyers argue to convince, entertain, inspire, and inform.

i don't know what to think about A.Yates thing - and try not to make a judgement myself...

LORD You know.... You know... Have mercy... Forgive us...

i remember when i was younger and had 3 small children under age 4.5 years, was trying to do everything "right"... trying to be a good mom... a good wife... do all the church routine...and had a passive, extremely busy, perfectionist, people-pleasing husband....and i had very little self protective or coping skills learned in my life... so LIFE MADE ME REALLY CRAZY for a while. seriously! i tried to do TOO much.... and felt like other's (husband's) expectations were what drove my life to where it got... i had expectations... but they didn't matter because i was being CONTROLLED by hubby's expectations and church's expectations and my and his family's expectations... i finally burned out, i think... twas anemic for years too, which didn't help at all....

anyway, for several years i had visions of hurting my children... i could actually see myself hurting them! it was a horrible thing... it was as if that was a solution... it was a lie... i know that... but, it was a vision that was coming into my mind...and wanted to be fulfilled... to solve MY problems... weird to be inside a mind with those ideas...

i'm being honest with you... hope you don't mind...

it was demonic, i'm sure... but also from my own woundedness...

i finally got to a point where i brought it up to some people so that i could take steps out of the CONTROL cycle... it's taken years to get where i don't feel controlled any more...

back then, i would not have known to say that i felt controlled.... it's not until i look back...

anyway, i'm not talking bad about my husband... he was not "controlling" really, but his coping mechanisms were to conform and meet everyone's expectations... and mine too to a lesser degree... and when you don't know who you are.... you can get sucked out of yourself! and usually children suffer when the parents don't know their relationship with their FATHER...

so, thankfully, God was merciful to me and my babies.... and to my man.... and we turned out ... and no one was mortally wounded...

but, there were times when i really hurt my girls...

i am sorry about that and i asked for forgiveness from them and from God... i also forgave my father for his control issues... and i forgave my husband for what i took to be offenses... he was just a real broken person like i was... and we have come a long long way in our healings.... and thankfully God did not give up on us...

i thank HIM for his mercies new every morning...

anyway, that's why i cannot judge hardly at all on this A.Yates case... it's just too real... and possible with just about anyone... like the woman, or the man...

and think of it this way, the children do not feel pain now... they don't suffer right now... they are in the arms of Jesus... so, that part's settled...

Lord, show yourself to Andrea Yates... and show yourself to her ex-husband and comfort them in the time of their mourning...

Lord, put a guard around the rest of their family so that they would have no more woundings.

Father, show your Father heart to the children of this nation and to the world. Show your Father Heart to all the parents who are raising children so that they may mirror Your love to their little ones.

Andrea Yates was a victim of DV and her husband is just as guilty as she is......of the deaths of their babies..

I agree with her being temporarily insane, and I think it was hormonal and emotional and demonic of course.
