refugees

This is really on my mind today. Maybe because Richy watched news half
the night, I don't know.
But the refugee situation all around us is just so desperate and sad.
We've been wondering about hosting families.. how you would find them,
how it would work...
http:www/ksbj.org has several links to how you can help, and I know
some of our churches are doing something in the Woodlands tomorrow, I
need to get more details.
What are you going to do? Anybody have any ideas or plans?

Re: volunteers at the Astrodome. I was wondering about that. Because when they shut it down last night for a while they were saying on the news there weren't enough volunteers. Then RIchy said they opened the Astrohall...

This is daniel,
I really felt called to do something with this whole situation, So I called Pat terry, and she said that the joshaua school facilities are on the list with the redcross, for montgomery county to be an overflow shelter. But this is the churches oppertunity to live the gospel. so When we talked yesterday we decided that we are going to announce and encourge the church body to pray about and sign up to make thier homes a place of refuge for those who are in need. We are going to use the joshaua school as a "station" per say to allow people to meet and invite those in need to live with them. I have made a sign up sheet for the churchs to regrister for the this great oppertunity. When I was praying about all of this I really felt like the lord said that he was going to "expand the borders of your tent" Those who take others in he will beging to enlarge the capasity of thier hearts to love, and thier finances will be met, overflowing, with this new financial burdan. For thouse of us who do not have houses to volunteer we can team up with those who have the space but not the finances, and togather we can make a diffrence.

I just wanted let you'll know about the coming oppertunities.

I just talked to pat terry and the joshaua school is taking two family groups that are on thier way to houston right now. There are 17 members in each family. So what we are going to need is food, blankets, pillows sheets, things of this nature. And volunteers and people to help pass out food and cook for the people. We are not sure how the people are going to feel about staying with people from MCF, but we are looking into that right now. ---Daniel

What is a Yablonski? Maybe Georgia or mama could give a few insights....

a Yablonski is confused... but valiant

On time Beth and I agreed to have lunch at a mexican restaurant in town dressed in all pajamas, bathrobes and slippers.

The event never really materialized, but we had a great time wanting to.

That was Yablonski.
Another time on one fantastic Thanksgiving we had a rock concert with people jumping on chairs, stage diving, lead singer worshipping, and screaming self-dieties.

But the favorite Yablonski event of all time is constantly talked about with all the Yablonski's. Calvin had a new girlfriend come to Christmas. She and Leah were sitting behind Bob when he was forced into doing the Russian Cossack Dance. When he started dancing, he went way to low to the floor and split out his pants. Well, Bob has never been a man of underwear, so Nicole got the whole show.

Fortunately Nicole is a good Yablonski and laughed heartily.

Bob, Did you make it in?

Anonymous said...

Wow,how do you remember back that far? the bobster

Georgia said...

You dont remember these events?

My favorite was when Daddy was trying to whip C3 and Leah,so he took off his belt and C3 said ""No, Daddy dont pee on us!".

Georgia said...

How about the time I rewrote the Temptations song Papa was a rolling stone and Me, Bob, Calvin, Mike and John performed it for the whole group as a memorial to Dad

Georgia said...

I love that story. I was actually there that day. Calvin has always been so funny.

Georgia said...

I dont know if they are stupid but I like what Jess said, They are confused and valiant

There has been reports of website fraud for help to New Orleans, so yeah make sure you call or get good information before you donate. Volunteering is always a good idea. Don't waste anymore time if you're thinking about going to the Astrodome. Call somebody and get down there! Be safe.

Dont go to the astrodome. They are not taking volunteers that dont have appointments.

Does the nurse actually come to your house and give you shots?

Do you leave every Monday for an Ultrasound?

Is that the only time you have to leave the house now?

I got an email that said that the Astrodome was turning away volunteers. It might have been an old email. Maybe they need help again.

Has there really been alot of crime going on there?

Danmark and Utah say that people are being hurt at the shelters.
