First off. Macs: do what PCs do...they just do it RIGHT. Viruses aren't the only problem that PCs have. I have a PC, I'm on it right now, it has tons of problems. TONS!!! How many viruses does it have? Hmm...lets see...ZERO!!!!!!!!! Macs do not get viruses, not because they're the less used computers, its because the operating system is open sourced. Apple, invented a jillion different things that PCs now use. Firewire, WiFi, and I've heard they invented USB. I dont' know for sure though about that last one. Point is, Macs WORK. Pcs...WILL BE SERVICED. I hate to break it to you, but Dells are the worst. They have the worst reputation, and everyone knows them because they advertise and were the first to present the novelty of building a custom PC. The use their fame to sell, they trick little old ladies and non-tech savy people into buying what they think is a good computer. Usually with non-upgradeable, out of date, or expensive super proprietary parts.
Matt was right to a point, Macs are engineered to work right, but they do use components you can aquire at other places.
With the introduction of the Intel Core Duo and Solo processors into the Mac computers, there is no competition. PC's can't keep up. Number crunchers are PC people...everyone else SHOULD use Mac. From everyday computering to high level photo/movie/music production, Macs just work better, because they work right.
Mama PC, my generation is addicted to entertainment. Its as simple as that, and you can get CDs for cheap, just depends on where you go. DON'T BUY FROM CHRISTIAN BOOKSTORES! They have the most ridiculous prices EVER! The same CD I could get at Best Buy for 9.99 is 17+ at the Christian Book Stores.
Ipods: most popular, most inventive, most stylish.
Others: like PC's lots of variety, work all the same, and cost the same.
Good "others": Rio, SanDisk, iRiver...
these and CDs are the ONLY thing I suggest buying @ Best Buy. This is from a former employee that knows the markup they have on their products. DO NOT buy DVDs there(go to Target), DO NOT buy TVs/Stereos/Computers/Cables(for ANYTHING)
Things ok to buy: CDs, MP3 players, Cell Phones, Gum...
DO NOT BUY: the "performance service plan" you won't use it. Well...thats about the end of my rant.

thanks, naytron... i was wondering where you were yesterday. enjoyed your discourse on mac vs pc. and i know you have experience in the sales area and have seen a lot in that regard...
well, i was up half the night because of.... ahem.... dietary indiscretions... i thought it might be gallbladder related, but then i found my mom had the same symptoms all night, so we're wondering what we might have eaten at the fish fry picnic that could've gotten to us... so, detective work will continue. no one else in my family is ill...
when j had some friends over late last night to play around on the instruments, i made some homemade pizzas - and thought THAT was why i was sick last night - maybe too much sausage and spices...
i kicked all the miscellaneous people outta my house by 11 p.m. naytron, so you didn't miss much... they were only here about 1.5 hours and about an hour was ALL i could handle NOISE-wise...
wish we could build a music room of sorts... totally padded cell type room... live drums in a house are WAY TOO LOUD with young people playing on them.......
so, me and my tummy are staying home today...
seeing visions of the next musical production gotta write em down...
Good commentary Naytron. Best Buy is also great for appliances. When we moved into this duplex, we bought a washer, dryer, stand alone dishwasher, and refrigerator with the fridge on top. Best Buy was almost $600 less than a local appliance dealer, Lowe’s and Home Depot. Big savings!
Was gonna write more, but cute 3 week old boy just got put in my arms while his momma gets ready for church. Now typing with one hand, I’ll play with this cute boy while we listen to David Crowder. May read him some scripture. Life is sweet!

josh - i member sunday mornings with my kids when they were babies... i WANTED it to be sweet... and i am so glad you have this opportunity to spend sweet moments... but i have a sad and different story to tell....
EVERY SUNDAY of my life as a mom of young children was a struggle for me.... my husband was always going early to church to prepare to lead worship... every Sunday.... morning and evening and Wed nights.... so, i alone got the kids ready..... i did have years of being a single mom as far as church was concerned... does that make sense? and even while we were AT CHURCH, it seemed i didn't have my man next to me... he was in a different world than me in that way while the kids were little... he didn't want them to make noise in church or to make scenes... it was his JOB to be prepared to go back up on the platform at any second... so, he seemed totally focused on the organization of the church and not so much on his family.... on Sundays... i'm not complaining, but just telling how it WAS.... anyway... i was tempted to resent him and the SYSTEM but had to continually check my attitude over the years....and I had to stop fretting if I got to music rehearsal on time - i had three little children to get ready!!! and they were always getting into something while i got the others ready....
case in point - once i got Lindsey (2 yrs old) ready, then Hannah 6 months old fed and ready ... then, went to slip on my clothes and check my hair.....and went back into Hannah's room and found her in the carseat where I had left her on the floor - but Lindsey had vaseline slathered all over Hannah's hair!!! it took forever to get that gunk off Hannah's head! i couldn't get angry with Lindsey. she was just trying to help....
things like that would happen.
lindsey NEVER wanted to wear shoes to at all, and not even to church! but, in a traditional church, it was expected that all children would wear nice Sunday shoes... so, i was stressed... when J was a baby, hannah was 3 and linds was 4... it was as if once i got one kid dressed, the others would take something off...so it was a three-ring circus... and i had to get there in time to get up on the platform for a run through one hour before church.... and in my right mind and thankful, worshipful heart! ha!!!!
anyway - thankfully they all dress themselves now... :-) and i have had to stop worrying about what they look like. they are not worried about appearances, and i guess that is good.... i don't have to worry much about it any more... except linds STILL doesn't wear shoes... that's a whole different story now...
and, after years of relating to my husband and communicating....and through healings from God and working things out... he no longer WORKS FULL TIME in a church "organization".... so we have more peace in the journey... when we sit together in a service, he's much more relaxed... and doesnt' stress so much at CTK... i like the style of this church body... all working together and not PUSHING people to be what they're not. And, I'm sure we've grown up more over the years to realize that we must be true to God and who He's made us to be...and if that doesn't fit the "system", we must prayerfully consider what He would have us do... but NOT BE PUSHED to meet other PEOPLE'S expectations...

What I was gonna say earlier is that I had to uninstall and reinstall Quicktime to watch the other Get a Mac ads Friday night. I guess I had a way old version and something was missing that stopped it from just easily updating. Apple is pulling one over on folks and also installing iTunes when you only asked for Quicktime. . . tisk tisk. So, I got iTunes either way and will now subscribe to Richy’s podcast.

Mama PC...for the tea issue. I've discovered that if I take some Bigelow Constant Comment tea and steep it really dark, then add a good amount of sugar and some milk, it comes out tasting almost exactly like a Chai Tea Latte from STarbucks, but much cheaper! Give it a try! It's good stuff...
