the real blog

** I posted this this morning, and it never showed up. If the other one arrives, disregard it.

Today... the alarm went off at 7:54. This was by no means the FIRST time the alarm went off... but it was the last. Simultaneously Toby started crying in the next room, and R2 pushed open our door.
Thus, Friday began.

Last night was Bill's wedding rehearsal, which went the way of wedding rehearsals. Although, to my knowledge, there were few shenanigans and THAT is different. Then it was off to Margaritas for the dinner. Now, I gotta get gut level with you here... Margaritas has, in the last few years, fallen from one of my favorites to one of my least favorites... I grade based primarily on salsa. And this bright red Pace- looking relative is not on the chart. Cinco has also fallen from grace, watering down a truly great recipe... (plus, just not great customer service...). Now, Rancho Grande... you might have heard me refer to this in my youth as Grand Raunchy... they have gone up to #1 as I discovered the best salsa. I could drink the stuff. Awesome... and secondarily, the lunch specials EVERY day. Masterful.
But I digress.
Margaritas, yesterday, however was great! We had a fajita buffet and the young fry feasted on beans and rice... it was very good. And I sat by Larry of the Reicherts and he concocted little mixtures for me to taste... a lemon salsa, a bean and cheese mixture. Good stuff. Fun was had by all.
And Bill is giddy. From moment to moment he could burst into tears or start skipping.

awww...giddy bill,
what an awesome guy
I'm so happy for him!

Motorrow is the big day!

Bill, who I heard wonder about his future, and finding a wife, is gettting married!

I got to talk to Bill yesterday for exactly 4 minutes and 31 seconds. He called on the drive form rehearsal to dinner. He said, “Man, I’ve been to lots of weddings. . . I’ve been in weddings, and I know people get married all the time, but man, this is TOTALLY DIFFERENT!” I was quit cute/cool in the Bill way.

I’m very happy for him and Susie!!

Napalm- Yep, Bill wondered many a hour about life and love. You hear it ALL THE TIME when you’re single, but it really has to get in the heart, that we must trust the Lord with all our cares and plans- He cares for us, and His PERFECT plan will come to those who wait on Him.

Mama PC said...

amen and amen

it was hard for me to wait too... but i KNEW that i didn't want to just snatch up the first guy who gazed at me...

no, i wanted the BEST one...

it was sad
it was lonely
i was lost some of the time...
i was 19 and an old maid (both my younger sisters were MARRIED)
by age 20, all my friends at church had married or moved on... and i was left alone...
yes, i went out with guys - had guys calling and courting... but none caught my heart completely...
I had to just get to a point where I said... "ok God... I'll wait" and started thinking and doing other things.....

Then, it was a little while later that I realized who I was waiting for...and still had to be patient...and let God let him figger it out...

ok

good night alll...

i'm gonna go veg with my husband - find an old movie or something...

see you at Bill's and Suzy's wedding!!!

hope it's cold!

This blog is wonderful and really neat.....

BIll is like a kid......HE is so excited....

Life is good......

We have to let go of our right to be right.....

our right to be understood...

our right to be heard....

and we have to humble ourselves and grow under the authorities that our DADDY God has put over us.

Being a Christian is a never ending push to a higher level.

If we cannot be our BEST and be loyal and obediant to the people in our lives and the governments in our lives and the laws....that HE has put us under....how can we really believe that we would ever let GOD HIMSELF boss us around?

If I refuse to obey the laws or my husband or my pastor, if there is no one in my life that I humble myself to, or any authority at all that I listen to....because my ideas are so much better...and I am so much wiser...and I see so much fault with ever decision that they make. How can I grow....?

How can God teach me self control or humility or..........

Toby needs me......never mind...

I do not believe in everything my place of business stands for...

But, ever since Mikes message on how God uses our work place....
I have been paying attention..

I am learning how to be quiet and get out of the way and let HIM handle it.....

Jesus said nothing....He only asked God to forgive them....

Wow ...that is so big...

I have wasted so much of my life....

Mama PC said...

hello vkg

have you read the book GOD'S LEADING LADIES by JAKES?

Mama PC said...

maybe the title is God's Leading Lady...

It is a good book...

i'm garnering snatches from it every day... read a paragraph or two at a time, then meditate on it... it's really timely...

hannah ordered it, read it, then gave it to me...

Mama PC said...

don't think you've wasted your life... you can use what you learned for the glory of God and the benefit of others...

Mama PC said...

hey, i'm having a discussion at work right now...with some of the assistive personnel ... with whom i eat lunch with several times aweek...

i say the main halls in the hospital lie parallel to North and South... but, they argue differently... they keep trying to force me into believing it.. but in my mind, I know where DUE NORTH is! as they start to argue, i put up my hand and say, 'nO, I don't want to hear any more until you can bring a compass and PROVE to me where North is...

I think I'll try to go to that website where you can look at a building or address by satellite and see what it looks like from an aerial view... anyone know how to do that quickly? it bothers me not to know exactly how a building is positioned in regard to the map and direction...

am I crazy?

Josh said...

MPC- click here.

The star on the map is at the entrance from I-45 into the Medical Center area. Click “Aerial Image” at the top right of the map to get the satellite image, then drag the map over the hospital and zoom in.

And yes, you are crazy. = )

Josh said...

That's cool, Katie!

and, ah ah ah lsat.

Viking Granny!!!! said...

Last! Last" LAST!

I jsut go to Google maps and then put in the address and zoom in...and it turns into a real life birds eye view of the top of trees and all.

I went to South Knoll elementary...
I had Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Armstrong

my best friends were Alaina Smith and David Bowler

I played basketball with a fella named Jermaine(he's where I learned my stirf cuss word)

The first person I made cry was James

There were two chinese girls in my 2nd grade class, one named Tin-Tin and the other named Chin-Chin...they were cool. They brought us sushi...I threw up when I ate it

I prayed to God to make me fast so I could win a race against the PE coach's son, Matthew. I did...

I made friends with a guy down the road named Patrick...and some others Matt and Andy who's dad was a Marine Instructor in the Corps of Cadets @ Texas A&M.

anyway...just a few memories

Nate said...

oh...

and I had a crush on a girl named Sally...her dad was a Methodist pastor ...being a baptist kid, I thought i would go to hell if I liked a methodist girl...but what can I say? She was pretty? and I was in 2nd grade!

oh! haha!

much to the dismay of Jo Tull...I walked around south knoll elementary singing the wonderful lyrics of Lovin the Day by Out of Eden...in 2nd grade, approx 6-7 years of age. She recounts the same story at age 14...except not in an elementary.

I sang that song on my way to buy a dreamsicle for a quarter

anyway, enough of this

Viking Granny!!!! said...

Wow....Google earth is kool.

Is there a way to see a house?

If I have an address in Danmark is there a way to see it?

The Satelite view is grainy when you try to get too close.

That is so kool.

some places have better aerial photos than others...even sometimes you can see the lines where the weather was different when they took the pictures. Some places go from cloudy to sunny over a distance of a few feet. It all depends on the resolution of the photo where you are. Major cities for instance, usually have the maximum resolution, while other countries don't normally have that great of a picture

Nate said...

howdy!

today is the Maroon Out game vs. Nebraska

I wish that I could be there for my lil bro...but hey! Bill's gettin married!

Nate said...

BTW...for all you non-texans

maroon out is a tradition @ Texas a&m where the whole of Kyle Field is encouraged to wear maroon for hte game...just a field of maroon...

it's neat to see

Now that I have installed Google Earth......my computer is SLooooow

Normal?

Viking Granny!!!! said...

My most interesting school days memory would probably be the years I spent in Danish Schools.

In First or second grade we all had to stand in line 6,7 and 8 year old boys and girls naked in a room. Two Nurses and a doctor were waiting to weigh us and look in our ears and eyes.

None of the other children acted as though it was a big deal or anything out of the norm.

Do I need to uninstall Earth Google?

mama pc-
saw-wa-dee-kap
That's 'hello' in Thai...you would say: saw-wa-dee-ka
(the feminine ending).
Spent the summer of '92 in Bangkok with Teen Mania...the longest nine weeks of my life. Back in the good 'ol college days, I weighed 185 lbs. I ate tons all that summer in Thailand and still lost 15 lbs.!

Josh said...

You sound like a stud! Are you taken?

Mama PC said...

i think the Thai-gone superman 8 is taken...

Mama PC said...

saw wa dee ka to you to n8...

just had a good=ole prayer-meeting in my living room... n8-ron-palm will have to tell more...

good night

oh, and sing sing says hello...
she is teaching me about the Thai peoples... and the heart of God...

Nate said...

oh my golly gosh...

that was the thickest heaviest holy spirit stuff I have personally ever experienced. I was doing the whole uncontrollable body jerks and such. Speaking in tounges that I have never spoken in before and not even really hearing them. THey were foreign to me, but natural feeling to speak. When I thought about praying something or agreeing with something in english it felt VERY foreign.

That was some awesome prayer time...deliverance bigtime for me...I felt alot of things breaking in the people's lives we were praying for. It was STINKING GOOD.

I'd like to introduce to life N8tron-palmo...a saved guy.

God is doing awesome things in my life recently. Spiritual stuff and whatnot. I've been looking for these moves of the Holy Spirit in MY life for a long time, and they're finally here!!! PRAISE GOD!

so this is what it feels like to be in the presence of God? Now I see why people don't want to lose it! This is what it feels like to be saved...jeez laweez!

I've been having the hardest time hearing songs from the Lord, and on the way home I heard 3 different ones!

Nate said...

by the way...I've never done the holy spirit jerking stuff...or travailing or anything...wow...what a blessing to bless!!! I think I probably got more out of it than the guy I was praying for!
