vacation

I am having a great time. The Astros won... it was so sweet to see Jeff
Bagwell and Craig Biggio cry... they've been waiting a long time for
this.
So much for free hi speed internet in our room.... you have to have
your own ethernet cable - the Victorian only has two to lend out and
they're both out right now. Luckily, all the public places have
wireless so I'm sitting by the pool again... just woke up, haven't even
brushed my teeth....bleh
But here I am! We decided to "get that woman to the seawall", so my mom
and R2 will be joining us here today and we'll stay one more night....
We want to go see Wallace and Gromit but I have to see if I feel up to
sitting up that long.

It's just such a miracle we're able to do this at all right now. God is
so good. And I am having a blast. Probably another 6-8 weeks before I
throw caution to the wind... but right now just being away from home
and testing my boundaries gently is very fun.

Well if you really want to know. I stayed up until 2:30 last night working on a project. I got up at 6 went to school and found out because of a real little thing I forgot to do that my project was all messed up. I had to submit it anyway. I wish that wouldnt have happened.

Sometimes school is not so easy. sometimes it is real easy, but that is when you dont have enough time left to do an amazing project. Some of the students are sooo talented- at the same time- so demonized, it is a really strange environment for me. A lot of days I wonder what I am doing there. Some are not demonized, but it is sad to see such talent be lavished on the devil.

Yeah, 3 weeks of work and maybe I will get a C if I am lucky

There is like this new thing of worshipping the Japanese and Japanese animation. It is really wierd and I dont get it, but a lot of young people (early 20's) are really into this. Michael says there is a sexual thing related to it. I can see that, but I still think its kind of wierd. Hard for me to understand.

Georgia said...

I guess it is not really worship, but obsession. Sometimes it feels like worship

Georgia said...

Beth, have you seen this japanamation thing at the schools you go to?

This one lady just came out right boldly with her hate for right-winged christians. I know there is at least one more Christian in the class, but she just announced to the whole class that people always ask her about the Lord and how much she detests that. Made me feel kinda wierd, like I am not hiding anything, maybe it was aimed at me, or the other guy, I dont know.

She just seems so miserable inside. I dont think it feels good at all to her, it just doesnt hurt as much as the rest of her life.

Georgia said...

Well, maybe we should lighten this up. Thanks for talking to me, Julie, this has been bothering me about school for awhile.

Georgia said...

I think that is exactly where she is. I think you are so right about just praying for her and some others. It is all hurt.

Ha-ha, You have never been to the beach with that group. They are not living it up. Jess is soaking up the sunshine and enjoying herself with books. R2 is playing and having fun. Mom and R1 are locked into VERY SERIOUS spiritual conversations that will last until some person feeling kind of fleshly for asking about lunch comes along to interrupt. Then they will pick it up again later on. Mom and R1 are kind of alike in that way.

That's is the beauty of going to college. All of that hope for the future all around you.
I like that part.

The thing about people in their early twenties is that they think they have life figured out. They will not make mistakes and it is because they are such great people, by the time they get to your age. They are figuring maybe they didnt have it all down pat after all. Makes for a real positive place to be.

Georgia said...

That is a good place to be. It is good to think like that.

Georgia said...

They dont call Him cornerstone for no reason.

Georgia said...

Well, we are WALKING it out. That is the way it is. One day we got it. One day we dont. Praise God we dont live in the off days too long.

Good morning JD and Terri and everyone else who is addicted to Jessicas Blog.

It looks like she was unable to get a cord for her internet, and it also looks like she is just having too much fun.

Fantastic.

All four of them are probably lookin at the waves and listening to the ocean and really enjoying the family outing.

We will have all kinds of new pics when she gets back on blog.

Good Morning Jess!
