Toby's WeekDay! guys - want a day?

Toby will be a week old today at 7:45... pretty good party planned at
the Censored Buffet...

Don't know if the guys will show up today... if they do and suggest a
topic, then we gotta go with 'em.
Otherwise, gab away...

Today at some point the doctors will come by and talk to us about this
bradycardia/apnea issue and we can possibly see how long we'll be kept
for observation...
also Toby is scheduled to be circumsized- probably tomorrow.
That might get the guys going...

ah yes the "pain" topic
the world calls it
"mind-over-matter"

i think women know a little bout pain

manydifferent levels and forms of pain...

the persecuted church knows more than me about this area

BethC said...

and then there is the life and pain of a substitute Teacher....howdy from WashingtonJHS

BethC said...

I think i felt more pain when my babies were circum'
it is painful to be a parent when your sweeties have to go through tough times

So far that is the hardest thing i have ever had to do is hold hannah still and look her in the face when she got her shots... I cried more than she did. I kept thinkin "my daughter thinks i am the one hurting her..."

Aww circumcision, a truly manly topic!

I've thought of some funny things, yet I feel my ministry license may get revoked, if I say them.
God cleanse the forskins of my heart!

jess said...

I don't really have a ministry license, except from the Holy Spirit. He is the one who may revoke it...

I don't know if I am calloused or what, but the kids always got their shots so fast that it never bothered me. When Chris had to go through all his testing and they had to draw blood from the arm when he was almost 2 years old, I stood in the hallway crying while a nurse held him in the examination room. As far as when Christopher was circumcized, I just remember having to apply lots of petroleum jelly for a week or so. I was so afraid the guaze would stick to him and I would rip something the next time I did a diaper change. But Jess already had a boy and has been through this before. Wouldn't our boys kill us if they knew what we are saying publicly on the blog?

big daddy,

By the way God does have a reason for all things and there are health benefits to circumcision. Less germs and less diseases and much easier to keep clean.

Anonymous said...

Crystal,

How are you doing? Sorry I did not bring you dinner when I was supposed to.

Anonymous said...

By the way,

If you are breastfeeding your child (as I was with each of mine), after they get the shots you can nurse them immediately andit relieves their pain and calms them down which relaxes the muscles and causes for a much quicker healing. They won't get the big knots in the legs.

matt, explore the depths of your trauma with God's plan of circum.
i'm sure He will show you the deeper meanings...maybe He'll give ya a song....

Got back to work yesterday, and woosh, it was a busy day! The week and a half off was great, I think everyone should get a week off at Christmas. I am excited to be back and starting my new position on Friday. Today has been real busy too.

If you are interested in a home business that is Christ orientated, I just started a business called Quiet Places. You can see their product at www.quietplacesforyou.com. It is a really neat company with good benefits. I am looking to sponsor a few people under me. I am available to answer any questions you might have. I am going grocery shopping now, but will be back this afternoon. Also my e-mail is kbrezik@gmail.com

Shannon,

It is a great home business with excellent product. With becoming a new mom, it is a great way to get to stay home with your kids.

There must be something big going on spiritually, God getting all His babies in order and acountable.

I even have a financial advisor.

It can be very humbling finding out where you REALLY are.

But it is very bright and sunshiney on the other side.

:0)

I think it is really cool that Tobias is getting his procedure on the 8th day.

Good pun there, Beth.

Speaking of financially decisions today. . .On the home offer we made, they counter offered, and the way they wanted to do it put the price over what we were comfortable doing. We could’ve done it, but we would’ve been tight financially more than I’m OK with, especially with the baby on the way.

BethC said...

josh,
you givin Daniel the "business"...

BethC said...

smart thinkin there josh
expensive houses not worth the financial stress

have you read any of D.Ramsey or Dr. Stanley on money

Josh said...

Haven’t read any books strictly written about finances. I just hate the thought of debt and want to make wise decisions about finances. We have never paid a penny in interest on our credit card in the three years we’ve had it and only have a $150 a month car payment that will be done in July. I watched my parents be stressed over debt most of my life, and just know how God feels about it.

I understand some people “have to” get into debt or get tight some times to make decisions, and that just happens some times. I’m thankful we haven’t been faced with that. . . and we are just committed to not go there if at all possible.

Like Shannon’s dad said to us when we got the counter offer, “It’s the stress that will kill you!”

“Vikings at Wal-Mart”. . that could be a movie title.

I think Terri wins the “Goes to Wal-Mart The Most” award. Seems like every other day.

Did you know, interest is called interest because it is interesting?

NOT

That’s awesome, Julie!

We actually decided last night to hold off on the home searching for now. The prices her are just too expensive all around, even older homes built in the 1920’s. It’s crazy! We’re now looking for possibly a nice rental house for a year, maybe two. We really really want to own a home, but having the extra money right now is the right decision, we feel.

The good ol’ CTK roster being used at it’s best. = )

Anonymous said...

Sharon,

It is actually my fault that the invitations are "one year late". I guess I haven't started writing 2006 yet. I am pretty slow this year. It wasn't until Monday that I told Steve that I finally realized we had started a new year. I was only a couple of days late in realizing.

I had sent out those invitations before the New Year and my brain wasn't in gear yet.

Josh said...

By the way, just wanted to make sure you all know I’m just kidding about the whole roster being used for it’s best thing. = )

Gee Whiz Terri, Just once I would like to get away and just relaxe at Walmart and be left alone so that I could just do my job.

I think you just sit and wait in the car with your laptop writing on the blog and keepin an eye out for any poor defensless Viking Grannys walking through the front door of Walmart.

Gee Whiz. I go there at least twice a week and you are ALWAYS there.

Wassup?

Woman with full facial hair, not a subject I want to discuss.

BUTT, in the spirit of Guy’s Day, I wanted everyone to know that the men’s restroom at Boeing has a whopping 14 stalls (not urinals, 14 sit down stalls). You think you’ve been in a smelly restroom, you ain’t smelt smelly till you’ve been to the Boeing men’s restroom in my building with 14 gassy men’s stalls.

I guess I will miss a few things when I start my new job in a different building.

Sharon,

Steve said that he has musical ability, he can make noise and he can play his radio really well.

I took piano lessons for four years, but with brothers like Beau and Shane, I was always outplayed by them. For some reason, I never made it very far in playing. I would love to be good at playing even one instrument. We now have a piano, a guitar, a lap harp, and an accordian. I can't figure out how to play much of anything on any of them.

My kids love music and I hope that one of them will be able to succeed where I feel that I failed.

W O W... that's all I can say. This was the most interesting tour through many topics I've ever spent the time reading! How do you people have all this time to read this much stuff!!! Ha! Hi, Jess and Richy.

Hey, I just cooked dinner. Are you all home or driving home soon. Feel free to call and come by and pick up a couple of servings of chicken and rice with veggies and even some cashews thrown in for fun. (You never know what will come out of a afternoon of Mama PC at home). Hungry?

Circumcisions - I'll let Daddy JC speak of all the significance one day....... but, as an RN who participates in the procedure, the babies only cry when their diapers are removed, then the doc applies aneseptic to cleanse...... and they feel a bit cold from being so 'EXPOSED'. The docs are always very careful and exact in their methods.
