Motherhood is not for the weak...

I now have two children. Isn't that WEIRD?
Toby was awake a lot last night... I think he has figured out I am his
slave... a few little grunts and whimpers and I'm out of bed with
dinner, dessert and a movie.
If I ignore the grunts, it will be full fledged screaming by the time I
process... this is my child. I am in my own home and I am his food
supply.... etc...
Sometimes he just wants to drink for 5 minutes and then look around.
And wave his hands. I recognize these movements from when he was in
utero..

I love sleep now. It never really mattered to me before. Now I crave
it... I even took a nap yesterday- the first one in all of this
pregnancy and since his birth...

I guess I should take this opportunity for a shower and food... see ya

Okay, somehow I think I would notice the difference if I went from 3 children in my home to 18. I decided to take 6 of my grandchildren to the Houston Zoo by myself. It only happened once and there is no danger of it happening again until the youngest reaches the age of 8. I will be eternally grateful that Con & Floyd was there with 1 of theirs.
Motherhood is definitely not for the faint of heart or the queasy of stomach. It's also one of the few jobs where the rewards are numerous and immediate. I remember very little of the hardships of raising my children but my mind and my heart are full of wonderful memories. It is one of the greatest opportunities for God to poor His love through you to others.
One day your children are grown and you miss them being small. Then God gives you grandchildren. Now that is a small taste of heaven. Welcome to the joys of life.

Good Morning everyone!

JD,

I think it was harder to go from 1 kid to 2 than 2 kids to 3. I think part of that is that I stopped working with my second one so I had to get used to being home with them all day. That is a BIG adjustment.

Jess,

I'm so happy that Toby has brought such joy into your life. What does R2 think of everything? How is he doing?
