guys day

Today, I have been trying to think of a topic... something like if
you could control a natural disaster (no casualties) what would you
do and so forth.
But it just seems lame.
SO, the topic of the day will be chosen by Josh.
And, since I just got here, ladies cannot speak

until 1

except to announce their presence.
GALS: they will try to goad you into speaking. Resist, resist.

Have at it, gents.

Well, I just got done shaving and now I have to get in the shower right now, here's a story to get started. Topic forth coming or others may go for it.

One time I was shaving while in a hurry and a slashed right into my lower lip with great force. My lip started gushing blood and wouldn't stop. . . I mean gushing blood. I probably used a half a role of TP to clot it. I had to eat with my lip sticking out for a while so salt wouldn't get in it.

jess said...

blog administration here requesting not a day of blood gushing as said blog administer will pass out in a pool of vomit.

jess said...

permission to speak

jess said...

thank you. I would just like to commend Matt on his bloodless scar and hacking story. That's the way to tell em.
and I want a spy car.
that is all.

Josh said...

Come on, just nuke him!

Josh said...

That's crazy, Daniel, but how were the worms at Wal Mart? Salty or tangy?

Josh said...

Well, in the Human Resources world, especially a company as large as Boeing, you know that you have employees on disability that are faking it. I’ve thought often that I’d totally like to be the guy that goes and investigates reports of fraud like this. Like someone calls and says this guy is getting disability from the company cause he can’t walk due to injuries, but he’s been seen playing on the local baseball league, running bases and diving for balls. You go out undercover and attend a game and get the proof. Could be pretty fun.

Josh said...

Daniel- Oh, I thought maybe you were practicing for your worm farm, like seeing how they taste at other places.

That does sound like a rough night. I’ve gotten laquor thinner on cuts and YOW it hurts.

Josh said...

I don’t know, I would’ve let out the razor balls to slash his tires, along with a full oil slick after the second warning.

Josh said...

BD- how did I never get to see this massive scar all those years?

Scars are for sure part of the inner wovenness of boys and man.

Josh said...

Servant- There are pros and cons to such a method, but either way he will think twice before tailgating again. Mission Accomplished!

Josh said...

I haven’t been fishing in a long time. You Daniel? Sounds like you go pretty often, where at? Have you been out on Doug’s parent’s boat?

Josh said...

Turkey gut chunker would rock

Other ideas:
Dirty diaper dispenser- you could have smells that would burn the nose hairs right out

Tejano music trap- you launch a radio that sticks to the car and blast tejano music with the same beat for hours. That would put some folks in a mental ward.

re: Blog Party Weekend (featuring JITB yo-yo!)

Yes, it took food to motivate me to actually interact with you maniacs. I've endured misssspellings for months (a year?) with nary a complaint. All things must come to an end; the grammar police are here...
(P.S. I tend to overuse ellipsis'...completely within bounds when chatting online...I mean...this isn't my senior paper. No, that was entitled: "The Role of Experience on Olfaction Responses in the Parasitoid Diaeretiella rapae (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae)...

So...about tacos. Let the sponsors be aware that they have some mighty competition: SanctuaryCTW has a hot-dog cookout extravaganza post preaching this Sunday (K-John himself will be flippin' the pork).
I only mention this because I may only be able to totally obliterate a 1/2 dozen tacos at Candy Cane (instead of 12-14). Having said that, Sunday is shaping up to be the best day of the year so far!

Josh said...

Well, well, Mr N8. Welcome.

Servant- This is Nate, Jessica's brother-in-law (married to Jessica's sister, Leah). He goes to Sanctuary Church.

Josh said...

N8- we're sure you got some stories good for Guy's Day, share the wealth.

Josh said...

Daniel- how often do you fish? where do you go most?

Nate said...

ah yes..the blood oozing...I always seem to get my lip while trying to get the hairs at the corner of my mouth. For some reason lips don't like to clot. I suppose it is the vast number of blood veins in the lips to control speech and expression...lips and face muscles get used sooo much. Especially with us blabbermouths...telling stories that are pointless and un-funny

Nate said...

oh wow...we have a celebrity in here...welcome N8

Nate said...

and was that really your senior paper? if so..where/why did you go to school?

Nate said...

oh ya...YAY GUYS DAY!

Josh said...

This is also the case for penguins, as you may have recently learned in "March of the Penguins". After the egg is laid, the females leave it with the male for like 4 weeks. The males go without food and see the egg hatch. And, all while not letting the egg touch the -70 degree ice by balancing it on their feet for 4 weeks.

Try that one ladies!

Josh said...

pheromone bomb- that's hilarious!

How about squirrel pheromone? Squirrels are everywhere in TX and up here in WA, you just couldn’t get away. Those little guys would be scrapping at your windows.

Josh said...

Maybe I have seen the scar. . I'll have to see if the pic brings it back.

Josh said...

Out in the wild up here moose pheromone could get you in a lot of trouble.

Josh said...

Shark pheromones would finish them off in Florida in the summer.

Josh said...

Why did the banana go to the psychiatrist? Because it had a split personality

Josh said...

This is some pretty good tapioca. That's one way of pudding it.

Josh said...

Animal puns:

When you are driving, watch for wild animals that are dead ahead.

An animal that eats without stopping is a hippobottomless.

A horse is a very stable animal.

If an animal looses its tail it should shop at a retail store.

Josh said...

A sheep dog puppy who likes cantaloupe is a melon collie baby.

A dog gave birth to puppies near the road and was ticketed for littering.

Josh said...

Small dogs with rich owners are often sitting in the lap of luxury.

A dog breeder crossed a setter and a pointer at Christmas time and got a pointsetter.

Josh said...

And what do you know, I think we managed to not even insult those of female gender.

Josh said...

Thanks, some of those book titles are pretty funny.

Josh said...

I don’t know, the pheromone bomb was pretty stinking funny.

Josh said...

Maybe the pheromones worked and they’re all on the hunt.

Josh said...

Guy/Girl Combo Time!

Hey, how about the thought of love bug pheromones-- all the while wearing all white.

That was crazy, when I first saw that in TX in 2001!

It always reminded me of how the best love is attracted to purity!

Shannon2-24 said...

oh, sorry,
that was from me, not Josh, forgot to check who was signed in..

Shannon2-24 said...

Yeahhh, Jewel! I'm so happy for you!

Josh said...

Starting in about 10 minutes, our electricity is going to be out for about 2.5 hours. They’re putting in a new power pole up the road. We’ll be shutting our home and work computers down now so they don’t get cut off.

Talk to ya’ll later. . . now we’ll miss all the fun.

Josh said...

Awesome Jewel! Talk to ya later!

Shannon2-24 said...

Ya, power going out soon.. have to chat with you later, Jewel : (

BD- I’ve only played Risk once, about 1.5 years ago in IL. It was a men’s game night at church. A couple of the guys were very experienced and I still did very well. The game really does have a lot of LUCK involved. As with most dice games, you really can’t put yourself up too much cause most of it is about the luck of the role.

Josh said...

I meant you can’t pump yourself up too much.

Josh said...

(I think Matt will observe the 1st game, then play if you have a 2nd game)

Josh said...

BD is a master of Monopoly.

What about Balderdash, BD. I bet you'd be good at it. That's one of my favorite games. We played with a group of about 12 people once and our sides were hurting from laughing.

Josh said...

You could get me in the game via web cam. I’ll make every move here that’s made there and we’ll do that. Just kidding, that would be way too much work.

Josh said...

It would be a lot of fun, but Risk may not be the right game to do it with since so many little pieces and all. It might take a lot of time for me to keep everythinig straight on my end.

Monopoly would be easier some time. We have a web cam, and you can get an OK one for $10 or $15 I think.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

A notice has been posted in the Crouse House by the authority of the ACGGMHF (Association for Cleanliness and Godliness and the General Mental Health of the Family)

Just thought you'd want to know...

Mama PC said...

actually, it was posted by Hannah - our housework girl - she's tired of cleaning up after all the rest of the family, so came up with a plan that each one would sign up for a day of the week to clean the kitchen totally by their bed time, or place $10 into the family fund...........

maybe it'll stay clean in there..... hope so.....

i talked with amber yesterday evening, and she is home safe.

she asked that we continue to pray for her friends shawn and willie.

she shared how obvious it was that God's hand was on them. the doctors original expectations on all three were very much worse than what turned out to be the case. amber says she knows that that was just the Lord.
