Thursdays

ahhh, the joy of normalcy. Today is Thursday, known in these parts as
"Trash Day". Not for any urban hip hop reason like today we talk smack.
Oh, no.
No, it is literally la dia de el hombres de basura.
When we moved out here to God Knows Where, Texas, I was greatly
impressed by the fact that we could burn our trash.
a) fire is cool
b) sometimes things explode
c) no keeping stinking trash around for the dogs to strew so the
neighbors can say... looks like somebody's in big time debt.

So, I was pleased and on occasion stood and watched how diapers melt
and so forth.
Then, some other residents of Radiantville, (heretofore known as the
Juans, and R1) decided we should join the revolution and pay for trash
service. I disagreed but Paul said, and I quote, "If you want to burn
all the trash and wait until the fire goes out and clean it up..."
something like that.

So now the trash guys come every Thursday and there's hardly any fire
around here at all.

trash talk :
I find peace and comfort watching the trashtruck use the hydrolic lift to remove our household debris...a sense of "cleansing" and starting new....
also, when bobby was a toddler, we would watch from his upstairs window with great excitement as the truck came and went...aaaawwwww, making memories...
I agree with g about the "child" conversations...heart grows fonder

Good Morning blog,

The guy that owns the duplex doesn't have trash service running here yet, so we put it in a can on the back porch and he gets it once a week.

I raise the motion that comments like "Toby wants his own all you can ear buffet" not be used. It's just hard to read that and not have to fight mental imagery.

Anyone second the motion?

{{blushing}}

Just to clarify, I don't struggle with mental picture issues such as I may have aluded to. I just don't want to fight picturing a good friend giving her baby an "all you can eat buffet", since we all know where it has to come from.

PS. I'm not at all upset, just raising a topic.

or, for example... "Josh had to have colon surgery"

jess said...

now, burning a possum is no crime

Josh said...

But be careful burning a mouse, those guys can get revenge.

jess said...

Possums are CUTE and FUNNY she says....

jess said...

the other day, there was a possum stuck in our pond (the dry part) and we sicced Thumper on her but right when Thumper got there Natalie found out and called her off.

Sheesh

Josh said...

Anything is cute when it's only 3 inches long.

jess said...

a 3 inch roach would not be cute

jess said...

Nat was protecting Thumper.
no possum lovers out here

jess said...

you'll have to picket most of the world... :)

COLON

Beth said...

possums always remind me of the R.O.U.S.'S on the Princess Bride.
And if you think they're cute, well, God bless you and the possums, and i'm sorry to say, but that's the one animal i would willfully banish the earth of in anyway possible...nast giant rats-----and they've NEVER been cute for me!

jess said...

Just giving josh some other imagery. A semi-colon is after you have part of your colon removed

jess said...

it appears you stand alone, Norahs

i know that the Bible says that Jesus loves all the people, but does it actually say that He loves all the creatures????

Beth said...

you better just call it a day

Beth said...

well, if there were possum's in the garden, then they've had their own possumly fall from grace, 'cause .....yuck....

....clam shudders.....

jess said...

roaches, mosquitos, wasps= THE curse

Beth said...

please add possums to the curse list

jess said...

roaches, mosquitos, wasps, possums, Plymouth Horizons= THE curse

Beth said...

plymouth horizons?

Beth said...

i didn't say i didn't like cockroaches; but they're dealt with differently, and i've never had a giant one try to attack me or my cat!!
or cause the great stench in my back porch!
or bare its teeth at me
or try to attack my dad
if possums could be saved, that would be one thing, but i'm pretty sure the no soul for saving thing goes to them, and i'm really sure there's no possum heaven.
kill the roach and mosquitoes, yes, but please don't spare the possums
blkh!

Beth said...

re curse list:

i know wasps aren't fun, but....they make really cool looking nests....that's SOMETHING good

Beth said...

darling, you're certainly no stooge.....you're just very creative and imaginative and good with words

and very very cute

Beth said...

ok, but was it attacking you or hiding from something?

p.s. very very very very very very sorry for that horrifying experience

jess said...

I have to get away from here or I will never have an appetite again

Beth said...

don't roaches benefit trees somehow or something?????

Beth said...

no don't leave jess

Beth said...

hey, maybe we should talk about pizza or something so jess won't leave

Beth said...

yes, i've found roaches to be very jealous creatures...especially in the fashion department

I have to go anyway, because the top secret reason I was sitting here is finished

Beth said...

i don't know....a goose bit me once....i had nightmares about mother goose for years following....seriously....ducks kind of look the same when they open their mouths

Josh said...

I am here. I had a conference call at work I had to be on, then another call I had to make to discuss some things.

God created the possum, this is true, but some vessels were created for honor and some for dishonor. I think animals may be the same and the possum is in the dishonor category.

jess said...

my animal policy is admire from a distance but no touchee

Beth said...

i think katwoman and mamapc are the ones with the pb pie recipes, hon

Beth said...

or maybe harvy?????

jess said...

Beth said...

Beth said...

harvy,
you're a very silly girl

Beth said...

i went to college with keith richards

Beth said...

harvy, oh, i get it!!

servant, it was ok; i liked the chimichanga......i don't really want pot pies though anymore; it's basically disappointing stew in bad bread.......i'm sorry; i tried to have a good attitude about it, but i still didn't want it

jess said...

Congratulation to jess & servant for the semi-colon puns, and to Sharon for the “quake me up”. It’s good to see that puns are catching on, I think I have a tear in my eye.
