Toby Update

this is Richy...
We received a negative report from the doctors about an hour ago. Toby was tested positive for RSV. He also has some pnemonia, and bronchiolitis! He is under quarenteen (sp?) for a few days. We have a warning sign on our front door. Sooo...
fear not! "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind." Fear paralizes faith. As we pray for Toby, let's think on what is good, and see him completely well. Though this is very serious, and toby needs quick healing, there are some positives. 1. He is finally sleeping right now with his mommy. He has been crying and unnerving his parents for the last few hours. 2. His body is doing great absorbing oxygen. 3. He has a community of believers who have been faithfully praying for him.

Jessica, of corse, needs prayer as well, as she is having a hard time with this report. "Who's report will you believe?"
So we could be here a while, or they may send us home tommorow evening, if all looks better, however, we will still be under quarenteen.

On another note: Pray that I work out our vacation. Jess and I had a trip planned for boston leaving this Thur. Am to Mon. I was hoping it to be a time of revival for her. We already paid for this trip in full, flights, hotels, car rental. So it is a bummer to lose it. I am hoping there are some re-fund, or re-direct options, although we bought at priceline.com which ususally creates cheap deals that are not refundable. Perhaps if the names can be changed, someone may win a lottery vacation. Wisdom Lord.
May our lives give you Glory, Richy
if you want to communicate with me, the best way is e-mail avail@radiantworship.com I will try to read the blog, but as you know I am only an occasional "lurker."

I love you all and Toby will get through this just fine.

Should mommy decide to go in the tent also, the oxygen will be good for her too.

Praise GOD she is petite and can easily fit!

Toby slept well under the tent. The doctor came by and said, in broken english, that he may have to stay for treatment a few more days to clear up his lungs.

Last night at about 3am, they came in to prick toby for a blood test. Jess and I both noted that there was a crazy amount of peace in our room when we woke up. We had not expeirenced this since coming here. I know God was operating through the prayers. Thank you so much for praying.

One day I went outside for my break at the shelter. I still smoked cigarettes WAY BACK THEN....

The natives were restless and some of the residents at that time were crazy and it was very stressful.

I was in a hurry and very stressed out. My boss was also a smoker so she was going to be following me.

I storm out the door, plop myself into a lawnchair, and the chair and I flip backwards and get lodge between the back board of the fence and the side fence and this huge potted plant. I could not budge. I was stuck.

So when my boss came out the door, all she saw was my feet straight up in the air.

It was so funny. She had to get help moving the plant so that I could roll side ways and get out of that situation.

I wasn't stressed any more.

Embarassing stories, what embarassing stories. . . I ain't got no embarassing stories.

Ok, so I do.
-The bear claw story at the Grand Canyon.
-The Christmas present story from Matt. (He'll love to hear me retell this in my own words)

These and others, if my frail memory will recall shall be told after my shower and some work is done.

Matt- That Ghandi story keeps aking me laugh over and over when I keep thinking about it, that's great.

Josh said...

Clarks- Praying for all you, of course. Total strenth and faith fill all three of your bodies!

I love you all!

BethC said...

laughter does good (better) than a medicine. andy and I loved Matt's story and Eva's was hilariously vivid.
truth is more powerful than fiction....speakin of truth, on the doctor's report, God's report is greater and has all authority....
hospitals are a a strange place....i pray for comfort to the clark's and allen's

This is my favorite embarassing story.
I was having a spanish home group at my house and I was serving generic cokes. One of the guys was bending over to pick up something when I asked him if he liked his cola. Well, cola in spanish is like butt. So I asked him if he liked his butt. He jerked up pretty fast and looked around the room for Mike. Sandra was in the other room laughing so hard and she said I have to tell you what you said!

Josh said...

I like my cola

jess said...

LOL cola.... awesome

jess said...

I have heard that sound but Richy did it on purpose...

Josh said...

I also did that once after RG one night. I filled up a huge cup of water and went in the restroom at CTK with the lapel mic. The looks on the faces when I came back in were awesome!

jess said...

It was probably faked, and it was probably during a radiant practice

jess said...

oh, maybe it was you...

jess said...

Richy said he did it too, during practice

those were the days

jess said...

I like flat cola

jess said...

( I was encouraged to write that once I mentioned it to jessica )

We got our vacation worked out. We canceled the whole thing with a fee. (which is nothing compared to losing all of it.) So we can re-book a trip later in the year when time allows. Praise God. Toby is sleeping well right now.

Beth said...

so glad toby is sleeping well......sweet dreams, little man

Beth said...

bd's reminded me of this one

i work at the courthouse, and i talk to attorneys a lot. i was on the phone with an attorney who was new to the area and was asking some questions about our procedures.

he seemed to be stumbling over his words a little bit, and i was trying to keep it light, so i mimicked and exaggerated his stumbling to a stutter. you know, b-b-b-b-blender?

anyway, it took me only a few more seconds of conversation to realize that the very nice gentleman who i was on the phone with actually HAS a stuttering problem! he wasn't stumbling; he was stuttering.

i felt HORRIBLE!

Beth said...

cool about the trip--i was mourning for you. 8)

Nate said...

well....aside from all the random pants-ings and what not. Working retail(best buy) you're supposed to be friendly with the customers. Y'know try to make them laugh and feel comfortable. Well, I had a tendancy to get the weird customers...the ones who are the butt of most jokes...so, when I'd crack a good one, they either wouldn't get it or would be way offended. I hated that job...

Am I having an 80's flashback? Hmm. . .

Josh said...

Well, if I ever develop a st- st- st- stutter, I- I- I- I’ll be sure not to talk to Cla- Cla – Clammy on the phone.

= )

That really would’ve felt horrible to have done that.

jess said...

the other night in Beaumont, Richy said something was rad... and all the little 13 year olds laughed at him

So off he went on a tangent about how they say something is SO 80's but they're wearing miniskirts over leggings and such... YOU ARE 80'S! he said.. pretty doggone funny

Just for kicks, I bought http://www.richyclark.com the other day. Because our ministry has soo many websites this was silly cheap for me personally. I also didn't want anyone else to get it. I intend to put a blog there (not at all to compete with Jess, as mine will mainly be random spiritual posts, though this one can be very spiritual too) and some info about sound production etc... one of my new e-mail address will be richyclark@richyclark.com I think that's funny. ( I'm a geek )

Toby has been sleeping so much today. I think he is getting tons of relief from the oxegen tent.

Mama PC said...

yes, the O2 tent is helping along with the moisture (isn't it kinda humidified?) plus the respiratory treatments.....

hey, you guys. when i worked at the hospital on 1960..... almost half of the babies that came to the pediatric floor were with RSV...... which tells me that it is something medically manageable at a hospital that's not like Texas Childrens........ if it had been SERIOUSLY DANGEROUs, they would have airlifted them to TX Childrens or something......

i read that RSV is common, and that yes it's very contagious.... but, some children respond to it kinda like a minor cold...and others end up with the major flare like Toby...... main thing is to wash hands a lot - all people need to know this - BEFORE I BECAME A NURSE AND STUDIED GERMS - I hardly EVER washed my hands......now, I'm not compulsive...... but have you ever thought of how many germs are being carried from one person to another unknowingly!!!

THIS IS THE MOST UNDERUSED HEALTH TOOL IN AMERICA! If we'd just wash our hands every time we touch a door handle or toilet flusher or our nose or mouth, the world would be a much healthier place.......

and not necessarily those antibacterial gels.....although those are better than nothing...... good old soap, water and a good scrub, then drying with clean paper or cloth towels briskly IS THE BEST WAY

roast is done... come on over, phone call or not. if you want, i'll pack you up 0 "to go" bowl.....

papajc didnt' come home. no, the Lord was more important than Mama Pc's roast dinner.....

:-)

He'll come home after rehearsal tonight and eat......

Mama PC said...

hi clam & serve......

hi beth - praying for you guys......

thinking of you all throughout the days....... you and yours......

how's val?

Mama PC said...

Jewel - I just wanted to say that you blessed my heart Sunday morning......with your beautiful expressions of worship.......

You ARE a jewel!!! The Lord is SO in love with you and is so excited to see your love lavished on him..... He is enraptured with YOU, Jewel C!

(just had to tell you that...)

Keep gazing on HIM, no matter what.... and He will carry you through............

I know we are going to get a good report when the dr gets there. I am looking forward to all the good news.

I hope they let him stay and keep on getting all the oxygen in the tent for a couple of more days, it could only be a good thing.

Jess will be breathing alot easier too....with all the crib time she has been putting in.

She is such a good mommy.

Mama PC said...

i thought of telling you jess to get in the crib too....... what did the nurses say???

or did you just pull the tent over the rocker and you???

TOBY UPDATE:

Made you scroll....

Doc said he looks "mach vetter" He is taking away the tent, and observing him overnight. If he looks good in the morning, we get to go home with some oxygen treatments. I am believeing he is going home. plus no pneumonia! The prayers last night rocked the situation! Hallalujah! - Richy

embarrassing moments....

once, when i was approximately 20 yrs of age....... i was helping out in childrens' church......and we were singing

THERE WAS A WISE OLD KING
WHO HAD TEN THOUSAND MEN
HE MARCHED THEM UP THE HILL AND THEN
HE MARCHED THEM DOWN AGAIN...

as he marched his men, so we marched up the hill...signified by lifting our bodies higher, then bending our knees as we marched down that same hill... of course, marching in place.... well, during the chorus of the song...

(AND WHEN YOU'RE UP YOU'RE UP
AND WHEN YOU'RE DOWN YOUR'RE DOWN
AND WHEN YOU'RE ONLY HALF-WAY UP
YOU'RE NEITHER UP OR DOWN.....)

my pointed high heel snagged my black half-slip and it fell as a pool around my feet..... there in front of approximately 30 elementary aged children and about 5 teenagers...... and my brother-in-law (who used to be my boyfriend...)

oh my....... i quickly bent back down so that my dress was all around my feet, and tried to work that slip back up my legs to the proper place around my waist........

how EMBARRASSING!!!

Viking Granny!!!! said...

I had alot of paper work to do before work tomorrow. I was on the couch writing and R2 was going back and forth to play room, then he sat down and played with an electronic toy and watched king of the hill, then after awhile, I noticed that he kept walking to the hallway and staring in my bedroom.

Viking Granny!!!! said...

So I asked him, "Richy, are you getting tired? Do you need to lay down?" and he walked over to me.

Viking Granny!!!! said...

So I picked him up and carried him to my bed and tickled him and squashed him and kissed on him and left him in there and he crashed.

WOW.......

That was easy. He must have been tired.
