Please pray for little Noah Lightfoot... here's the latest from Jennifer:
Please keep praying for Noah... I talked with Wendy a few minutes ago and she says his oxygen level is still only in the low 90's with oxygen being given. Without oxygen, he drops down to the 80's... Anything at 91% and below is danger level. They are about to start him on IV Antibiotics to help clear up what is either severe bronchitis (week 3 of it) or pneumonia. So, he's not through the thick of it yet. However, we serve a Mighty, Healing, Miracle-working God and I believe together we can pray for Noah to have a major turn for the better TODAY!

Also, pray for Katie today as she has her CT scan...

PS: If you'd like to visit Wendy and Noah, she is welcoming visitors today. But if you or your child is sick, or have been exposed to someone who is sick recently, she requests you not visit, since Noah's immune system is very low. i haven't been around helium usage... but, if they think it works and there's no harm...
my experience has shown that sometimes the little pulse-ox gadgets that they place on the little ones' toe or finger or ear can not be finding the correct oxygenation numbers because of coldness in the extremities...which causes vessels to constrict...then it registers low even when the core oxygenation looks low... whenever i have a patient that has low o2 saturation... i always assess the patient FIRST (not the little machines) and see if their respirations are too fast, if they look blue or pale...if their heart rate is too fast... if they are calm and talking and laughing and they're breathing normally, then even if the pulse ox reads low, i don't trust it completely. i will use warm blankets to warm up the extremities and also change the pulse ox to multiple locations (each finger, waiting at least a minute to see what registers...sometimes to the toe or the earlobe or top of ear)
anyway, that usually always works for me. i can get much higher readings when the extremity is warm enough.
those of you who frequent hospitals because of respiratory issues, push the nurses to check in different places before assuming that the one reading is accurate.
now I have to make a correction to my above post...
in the sentence that begins with:
"which causes vessels to constrict...then it registers low even when the core oxygenation looks ..." the correct next word should be "high"...
in otherwords, the core or true oxygenation of a person could be fine and within normal limits... but a cold finger or toe could cause a mis-reading on the pulse ox machine...

i need a maid - housekeeper - butler - whatever... SOMEONE to be in charge of the kitchen on a full time basis would be helpful...

you girls that get to stay home (and I did it for years) enjoy it to the fullest....and sow good seeds in your home... of industry and joy and beauty...
I'm still trying to figure out how to work full time, be involved in the church AND keep up a house. It's not an easy task. Thankfully my kids are old enough to take care of themselves now (mostly).
I just came back in from a campfire with my kids. They collected sticks to make a fire and we sat around the fire and read our library book.
The joys of being a kid again. I must now get them lunch.

and cleaned out the tub and surround...

that's why the house doesn't look clean very often...unless someone else picks up and does # 5-8... i usually only get around to 1-3...and not even those well...

j helps with 3 and yard maintenance, septic maintenance
i don't know how we ever get around to vacuuming... no wonder we fight allergies...

Yeah, the kids made a pile of sticks, first in the driveway and then they moved it to the backyard. It was totally their idea. I am not much of a reader, but I realized that I need to instill in them a love for reading or they will struggle with it the rest of their lives. Gabriela does not like to read very much, but she loves me to read to her. Chris loves books. He has always sat still for you to read him a book (since about age 3.)Abigail just turned 3 so I am expecting she will start sitting still for stories pretty soon.
no one in our home cooks but me... if i don't cook, they eat a bite of cereal or an apple... so, i try to make that a priority.
